Each month we will spotlight one of your furry friends. Click the "contact me" link below to send pictures and a story about your furry friend. Beau is an American Eskimo dog who came into our lives in 2003. The "adoption agency" said he was about a year old at that time and he was as wild as they come. My family wondered if we should choose such a wild child, but there was something very special about this boy and he has lived up to our expectations. His puppyhood was a mystery, but we could tell by his reaction to people that he'd had some rough times with a young woman who wore a baseball cap. He would bark and snarl at the sight of someone of that description. He had severe separation anxieties and shredded many a pillow in the early years. He also was defensive in the face of any dog his size or larger, especially other males. And he adores children, the younger the better. He stops to stare wistfully whenever he spots a child in the distance. Now 6 years old, he has abandoned all bad habits except barking. He barks at every thing that moves outside our door. He barks when anyone comes in, and he barks again when they go out. He is my constant companion, at my feet this very moment. He is my BFF best furry friend!
